What’s New


Thanks to all those who supported us at the Canton Historical Museum for their annual Tree Gala! 

What a  wonderful event –   The tree was truly amazing!  All the decorations are handmade by InDetail Studio and our wonderful and talented friends.  Here are a few pictures of the tree:





Wednesday, October 26th, 11 am to 2 pm – We had Jenny Watson at the Studio

Knitting designer, Jenny Watson was at InDetail sharing her experiences as a designer.  She took us through the pattern design process from beginning to end, discussing tips on making your garmets fit perfectly and shared a trunk show of hand knit designs from her new Noro book “City Girl“.

Lynn Wilson of Lynn Wilson Design was here on September 17th and taught another workshop for us.  Unbelievable shawls were designed.  Stay posted, pictures to follow…


Trunk Show:  Lynn Wilson Designs!

Lynn Wilson was here Saturday, June 25th to give an overview of her patterns and then teach a workshop!  In the workshop she taught 7 different slip-stitch patterns that teach a variety of slip-stitch techniques.


 

Blankets Donated to Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center:

Many thanks to everyone who contributed blanket squares…With all your help, we donated four beautiful blankets to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center here in Avon.  The blankets are going to be used by patients who are undergoing treatment at the Center.  Here are three of the blankets:


Hand Therapy!

Leslie Weismann was in the Studio on Saturday, January 8th to speak about hand health.  Leslie, a licensed OT & Certified Hand Therapist from Apple Rehab, had many useful tips for knitters and beaders to help keep our hands in proper health.  Don’t let any aches and pains stand in the way of doing what we love to do!
Those who joined us were also treated to complementary chair massages or soothing hand treatments from some of Apple Rehab’s wonderful Certified Massage Therapists.

Preemie Hats:

Many thanks to all who came out to knit preemie hats….So far we have over one hundred completed which have been donated to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.  CCMC was thrilled with the donations and expressed their sincere gratitude for such a thoughtful gift. Cascade joins us for a “Yarn Tasting”

Cascade Yarns joined us on Thursday, September 23rd.  We were able to meet the Cascade reps and find out what’s new this fall.  Everyone was able to sample all the Cascade yarns that we carry – 220 wool, eco wool, alpaca’s – just to name a few.   Several of our knitters walked away with a fabulous door prize.  Hope to see you at our next event.

Louisa Harding visits InDetail Studio!

On June 16th, we had designer Louisa Harding at InDetail for a yarn tasting.  There were beautiful garmets on display for inspiration, fantastic yarns, and a sneak peek at what’s new this Fall.
